1. Remove a tip of the corresponding steering draft (see the Section Removal and installation of external tips of steering drafts).
2. Mark the adjusting provision of a protective cover on a case of the steering mechanism and draft, then release fixing bandages and remove a cover from a case and a bar of steering draft.
3. Carefully clear steering draft and a case of rack transfer. In case of need use a fine-grained emery paper for removal of traces of corrosion, zadir and smoothing of the keen edges capable to damage sealing sponges of new covers. Having scraped out the remained lubricant from an old cover, fill it a tip of steering draft (an indispensable condition absence in dirt lubricant is, i.e. the old cover should not be damaged - in case of lack of confidence in a condition of lubricant use fresh the Milykote Longterm 2/78 type).
4. Accurately pull a new cover on steering draft and a case of rack transfer. Make sure that the cover is not overwound, then achieve combination of its outer edges with the tags put in the course of dismantle. Fix a cover by bandages.
