Removal, check of a state and installation of reels of brake mechanisms of back wheels
REMOVAL
|
1. Weaken bolts of fastening of back wheels, lobbies prop up wedges. A car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Remove wheels. Completely release the parking brake.
|
2. By means of the hammer and the big screw-driver with a flat sting accurately remove a protective cover from the central part of the brake drum. |
|
3. Take the forelock, give a stupichny nut and remove a lock cap.
|
At assembly the forelock is subject to replacement without fail. |
|
|
4. Give a stupichny nut, then remove a gear washer and take the external wheel bearing from the central part of assembly of a drum. |
|
5. Now the drum has to be removed from a nave manually. The drum can not give in to removal or owing to excessively hard landing of the wheel bearing, or at the expense of "prikipaniye" to its working surface of brake boots. If matter in the bearing, tap a drum on perimeter the hammer with soft brisk, or use a universal stripper, having fixed it by wheel bolts. If "stuck" boots, act as it is described below. |
6. Completely release the regulator of the parking brake (see the Section Adjustment of the Parking Brake), having provided the maximum weak point to a driving cable.

CHECK
|
|
Replacement of drums is always made in couple for both brake mechanisms of this axis in order to avoid loss of course stability of the car when braking. |
1. Remove with a brush from the surface of the reel brake dust - at all do not inhale it! 2. Carefully wipe a drum outside and check it for existence of signs of wear and mechanical damages of type. Make sure of lack of cracks around bolted openings. The defective drum is subject to replacement. 3. Check a condition of a working (internal) surface of the reel. In case of detection of deep scratches, zadir, cavities or the boots of furrows pierced on width the drum is subject to replacement. Presence of slight scratches should not cause concerns. Remove with a fine-grained emery paper a raid of a rust and the consolidated dust on the outer edge of a working surface of the reel. 4. Measure the internal diameter of a drum in two co-perpendicular planes. Having compared results of two measurements, estimate degree of ovality of a drum. The drum pro-point in admissible limits is allowed. If such opportunity is absent, the defective drum is subject to replacement together with opposite.

The pro-point has to be made also for both drums at the same time and at an identical size. |

|
INSTALLATION
|
1. Before installation of the new reel solvent remove from it preservative traces. In case of need install into place components of the internal wheel bearing, having carefully filled the last lubricant. 2. Before installation of the reel completely reduce brake boots for what raise an expansion wedge of the regulator. 3. Grease an epiploon of a drum and accurately put assembly on a bridge pin. 4. Install the external wheel bearing and a persistent gear washer. Track for correctness of an entrance of teeths of a washer to gearing with a groove in a bridge pin.

5. Screw a stupichny nut and tighten exactly so that it nestled on a washer, at the same time turning a drum for shrinkage of wheel bearings. Gradually weaken a nut, having provided a possibility of insignificant movement of a gear washer by the screw-driver. Remark: The washer has to move with very insignificant resistance. Having achieved the correct provision of a stupichny nut, establish into place a lock cap and put the new forelock. |
6. Establish a protective cover on the central part of a drum, having put her against the stop. 7. Repeat the procedure for the second drum, in case of need make adjustment of the drive of the parking brake. 8. Having installed into place both reels, adjust landing of boots, several times having firmly squeezed out a pedal of a foot brake to a complete recovery of pressure in system. 9. In conclusion establish into place a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel bolts with the required effort. |
