Adjustment of the direction of an optical axis of head headlights - the general information and replacement of the mechanism of the regulator

General information

Exact adjustment of the direction of an optical axis of head block headlights can be made only with use of the special optical equipment in the conditions of car repair shop.

Approximate installation of headlights can be made by means of the adjusting assemblies established in the top part of each of block headlights. The external wheel serves for updating of the provision of a block headlight in the vertical plane, internal - in horizontal.

Before starting adjustment, make sure that the regulator is installed in situation 0.

Replacement of the mechanism of the regulator

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The hydroproofreader of the direction of an optical axis of head headlights consists of two regulators (on one on each block headlight), connected to the main mechanism by means of hoses. Let's notice that all components of assembly (regulators, the mechanism and hoses) have to be hermetically connected among themselves. In case of refusal the hydraulic mechanism is subject to replacement (see below).
2. Remove an instrument guard (see the Section Removal and installation of an instrument guard).

3. Having accurately hooked, remove assembly of the handle of the switch of management of the hydroproofreader.

4. Weaken fixing screws on couple of turns, then slightly turn the mechanism counterclockwise and push it in the dashboard.

5. In a motive compartment find regulators on the back party of assemblies of head block headlights. For a regulator detachment from a headlight it should be turned counterclockwise and to release accurately spherical the hinge from a headlight reflector.
6. Moving along hoses, release them from all intermediate clamps (try to remember routes of laying of hoses).
7. Release the rubber plug of installation through passage of the hydroproofreader from a partition of a motive compartment and remove assembly of the proofreader from the car.
8. At installation fill assembly in an opening in a partition of a motive compartment and correctly place it in the dashboard. Strongly tighten fixing screws, then install into place the handle.
9. Put the rubber plug through passage in a partition, correctly lay hoses and fix them in all provided intermediate clamps.
10. Strongly latch spherical hinges regulators in reflectors, then strongly fix regulators in block headlights.
11. Establish into place an instrument guard (see the Section Removal and installation of an instrument guard).
12. Check serviceability of functioning of the hydroproofreader, in case of need make adjustment of the direction of optical axes of headlights.
