Safety locks, the relay and breakers - the general information

Safety locks

The majority of safety locks is placed together with the relay in the special assembly block installed under the dashboard a passenger foot well. Safety locks of some of additional systems (ABS, K/V) can be established in the certain holders fixed in the left part of a motive compartment. On diesel models safety locks of system of preheat and the fan of the cooling system can also settle down in a motive compartment of the car.

For the purpose of ensuring access to safety locks turn out a fixing clamp and, having developed the book, release the assembly block from the dashboard. The list of safety locks is provided in the last Section of the present Chapter. For access of the safety locks located in a motive compartment open a cowl cover, release clamps and a cover from the corresponding holder.

For replacement of a safety lock previously disconnect the corresponding contour / switch off ignition. Then grasp the case of the beaten-out safety lock with the special nippers fixed in a cover of the block and having pulled vertically up, take it from the holder's plugs. It is easy to identify the failed safety lock on the melted-off or burned down conducting crossing point.

At all do not replace the beaten-out safety lock calculated on higher nominal (on current) loadings. Extremely vicious practice is restoration of the failed safety lock by a peremykaniye of its contacts by means of a metal foil.

If the replaceable safety lock fails right after giving of food in a contour, therefore in a chain short circuit which reason should be established and eliminated takes place. If the checked safety lock is used for protection at the same time of several electric contours, try to reveal a faulty chain by serial inclusion of each of under control contours, excepting thereby obviously serviceable.

The relay represents the electromechanical switch used mainly in power chains. The electric circuit of the relay of a typical design is submitted on an illustration.

The majority of the relays used on the car are placed in the general with safety locks the assembly block. Additional relays (like the relay of system of preheat of the diesel engine) are located in a motive compartment.

For the purpose of ensuring access to the relay turn out a fixing clamp and, having developed the book, release the assembly block from the dashboard.

If there are suspicions on the fact that the refusal any of electric contours is connected with failure of the relay of its management, include the corresponding system - the serviceable relay when giving of food on it has to publish distinctly heard click. If the click sounds, so malfunction of actually working component, or failure of an electrical wiring is a cause of failure. Otherwise, takes place or violation of giving of food, or the relay is faulty actually. Check of a condition of the relay is made by substitution on its place of obviously serviceable. At the same time it is worth to remember that external similarity of two relays at all not necessarily is a guarantee of identity of the principle of their functioning.

For replacement of the relay, first of all, switch off the corresponding electric contour. Then the relay can be easily removed by its pulling from a reception nest. Establish to the place of the removed relay new, with the corresponding working parameters.
