The 5-contact socket is located on a partition of a motive compartment, near the block of electronic control. On the models produced after August, 1993 the 16-contact socket of system of onboard diagnostics of the 2nd generation - OBDII located in salon can be used. In this case a tester it is necessary to apply to reading of codes transitional the VAG1551/3 cable.

Reading of the blinking codes

For reading of the blinking codes connect a light-emitting diode between contacts With and E sockets (+ to E; - to C). Include ignition and a peremknita on 4 sec. of the plug A and D of the socket.

Consider the 4-digit blinking codes on flashes of a light-emitting diode.

Value of each category corresponds to the number of flashes lasting 1 sec. except 0 to which there corresponds one flash lasting 2 sec. At first thousands of a code, by the last – units are transferred. Between categories – a pause in 2.5 sec.

For extraction of the following code again to a peremknita the contacts stated above, and so before emergence of the code 0000 designating the termination of a conclusion or 4444 – lack of codes of malfunctions.

Disconnect wires and switch off ignition.

For removal of codes from memory of the block it is enough to disconnect a negative cable from the rechargeable battery not less than on 5 sec.

For reading of codes by means of the scanner act according to the menu of the device.
