The flywheel is cast from cast iron and provides uniformity of operation of the engine. Besides, the flywheel serves as a coupling support. On perimeter of the forming surface of a flywheel the gear wreath with which into gearing the driving gear wheel of a starter at start of the engine is entered is established.
The gear wreath is made of steel and tempered by current of high frequency. The wreath napressovyvatsya on a flywheel body after a preliminary warming up up to the temperature of 180 ÷ of 200 °C.
The frictional surface of a flywheel interfaced to a clutch plate is subjected to very careful machining.
The flywheel fastens to a flange of a bent shaft by means of four bolts of M10x1 which kontritsya by a special washer, the general for all four bolts.
All flywheels are balanced statically (the admissible imbalance leaves no more than 0.1 Nanometers). After landing to a bent shaft dynamic balancing of a flywheel assembled is made.
During operation of the car the back surface of a flywheel interacting with a clutch plate and also its gear wreath is exposed to wear. Repair of a back surface of a flywheel consists in its regrinding on the special grinder with observance of necessary admissions. As for a wreath, at identification of signs of considerable wear of teeths or their damage, it is subject to replacement.
The worn-out wreath is removed from a flywheel by means of a press. Alternatively, in the basis of a wreath one or several openings with a diameter of 12 ÷ of 13 mm are bored through so that the wreath burst. Try not to damage actually a flywheel.
The new wreath before installation should be warmed in the electric furnace up to the temperature of 180 ÷ of 200 °C. the hot wreath keeps within on a flat surface, then in it the flywheel which is previously best of all for cooling is pressed.
At removal of a flywheel from a bent shaft it is necessary to remember, it is subjected to dynamic balancing, and therefore has to be established at assembly strictly in former situation - put landing tags.
