Replacement of epiploons of a bent shaft

The right epiploon (from a pulley)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a pulley of a bent shaft (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a forward cover, chain and asterisks of the GRM drive).

2. Having carefully hooked the screw-driver with a flat sting, take an epiploon from a GRM drive chain cover. Try not to damage the condensed surfaces of a cover and a pin of a bent shaft.

3. Alternatively, drill or puncture couple of small openings in a face surface of an epiploon and screw in them self-tapping screws. Now it is possible to take from a cover, having grasped heads of self-tapping screws with flat-nose pliers.
4. Carefully wipe and polish epiploon nest walls, and also a surface of a pin of a bent shaft - from the condensed surfaces any roughnesses, agnails and teases capable to lead to bystry failure of a new epiploon have to be removed.

5. Oil pure motive sponges of a new epiploon, and press/begin to knock the last sponges inside in a nest in a casing aflush with an external surface of a cover of a gas-distributing chain. As a mandrel for landing of an epiploon it is possible to use a face head of the corresponding size or a piece of a pipe of suitable diameter which have to rest only against the rigid outer edge of a face surface of an epiploon.

6. Collect by rags all traces of oil, then establish a pulley of a bent shaft (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a forward cover, chain and asterisks of the GRM drive). Let's notice, when fixing a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye in the course of installation of a pulley it is necessary to remove the case pallet for the purpose of a possibility of control of provision of a persistent washer.


The left epiploon (from a flywheel)


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a flywheel (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a flywheel).

2. Accurately puncture or drill two openings in a face surface of an epiploon and screw in them self-tapping screws. Take an epiploon from the nest in a wall of the block of cylinders, having grasped heads of screws with flat-nose pliers.

3. Carefully wipe and polish epiploon nest walls, and also a surface of a pin of a bent shaft - from the condensed surfaces any roughnesses, agnails and teases capable to lead to bystry failure of a new epiploon have to be removed.
4. Oil pure motive sponges of a new epiploon, and press/begin to knock the last sponges inside in a nest in an engine case.
5. Manually put on a new epiploon a pin of a bent shaft, having accurately translated it through a coat hanger and press it in a nest so that the external end face evenly on all perimeter was pressed a persistent surface of a coat hanger. In case of need the epiploon can be begun to knock in a nest the hammer with soft brisk.
6. Remove the remains of lubricant and establish into place a flywheel (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a flywheel).
