Dumping of residual pressure in a power supply system

See the preventions provided in the Section the General information and precautionary measures.

During implementation of this procedure only dropping pressure in a power supply system is made. Fuel at the same time continues to remain in a path and components - prepare for collecting traces of the spilled fuel.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The path of a power supply system consists of the gasoline pump established in the fuel tank, the fuel filter, an injector of injection, the throttle case with pressure regulator which is built in it, and also metal tubes and rubber hoses of lines of giving and return of fuel. Cavities of all listed components are filled with fuel which at the working engine and/or the included ignition is under pressure. Pressure continues to be present at system during even some time after switching off of ignition and before performance of any works connected with a rassoyedineniye of a path or removal of components has to be dumped. Ideally it is necessary to start service of system only after full cooling of the engine.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
3. Remove the relay and/or a safety lock of the fuel pump (see the Section Removal and installation of components of the Bosch Mono-Motronic system).
4. Having switched-off the pump, temporarily connect the battery and within about ten seconds turn the engine a starter. If during a provorachivaniye there is a start of the engine, wait for its spontaneous stop. The injector in the course of a provorachivaniye of the engine has to open so many time how many it is necessary for full dropping residual pressure in a power supply system that will allow to avoid spraying of fuel at a detachment of lines of a path.
5. Take a key from the lock of ignition and disconnect a negative wire from the battery. Now it is possible to return a relay/safety lock of the fuel pump on the place provided that the battery will remain disconnected, and ignition will not join until completion of works.

Inclusion of ignition at the powered fuel pump can lead to unexpected spraying of fuel through openings of the disunited lines.

6. Establish suitable drain capacity under the nipple connection which is subject to undocking. Prepare enough rags for collecting the spilled fuel.
7. Slowly weaken a collar or a nipple nut, wrap up a joint rags. When emission of the remains of fuel stops, finally to a rasstykuyta I will corrode. Muffle the open ends of lines/unions traffic jams for the purpose of minimization of losses of fuel and in order to avoid internal pollution of a power supply system.
