Throttle case

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove assembly of a casing of the air cleaner (see the Section Removal and installation of assembly of the air cleaner).
2. Dump residual pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dumping of Residual Pressure in a power supply system), then disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
3. Disconnect from unions on a wall of the case of a throttle of the line Mark hoses according to the real direction of a stream of fuel (see arrows on illustrations).

4. Disunite electric sockets on throttle cases. Mark as appropriate electrical wiring plaits.

5. Disconnect from the throttle case an accelerator cable (see the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of an accelerator).

6. Turn out through bolts (A) of fastening of the case of a throttle to the inlet pipeline. Remove throttle cases from the pipeline and remove laying (if that is provided). Without real need it is not necessary to dismember throttle cases - its half fasten among themselves by means of internal through bolts (In). If such partition is made, do not forget to replace sealing laying.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace sealing laying and to track reliability of tightening of fixture. In conclusion adjust an accelerator cable tension (see the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of an accelerator).


Fuel injection injector

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove an air cleaner casing (see the Section Removal and installation of assembly of the air cleaner).
2. Dump residual pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dumping of Residual Pressure in a power supply system), then disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
3. Disconnect an electrical wiring from an injection injector.

4. Turn out the screw and uncover an injector/casing of the sensor of temperature of the soaked-up air (IAT). Remove laying.

5. Remove a fixing washer (if that is provided), then take an injector from the throttle case. Remove sealing rings.
6. By means of a universal tester measure the electric resistance of an injector compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace sealing rings and laying. Grease a carving of fixing screws before installation with suitable sealant. All fixture drags on with the required effort.


The sensor of temperature of the soaked-up air (IAT)


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

The IAT sensor is built in in a fuel injection injector cover, the description of procedures of removal and which installation is provided in the previous subsection. On the basis of information of ECU obtained from the sensor corrects amount of the fuel injected by an injector. In case of refusal the ECU sensor switches system to emergency operation of functioning, developing the operating signal corresponding to air temperature in 20 °C. at the same time there can be problems with start of the engine and stability of its turns in the warming up mode.


Fuel pressure regulator

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. In case of lack of confidence in serviceability of functioning of the regulator, it is necessary to make dismantling of the block, then to check it for existence of signs of pollution and integrity of internal components.

The Skoda company insists that in case of failure of the regulator of pressure it is necessary to make replacement of all top half of the case of a throttle assembled. Consult at car repair shop.

2. Remove an air cleaner casing (see the Section Removal and installation of assembly of the air cleaner).
3. Dump residual pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dumping of Residual Pressure in a power supply system), then disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
4. Turn out the fixing screw and uncover an injector the IAT injection/sensor.
5. Turn out three fixing screws with heads like TORX and remove a basic frame of the regulator of pressure of fuel.
6. Remove the top cover, a spring and a membrane.
7. Carefully wipe components and check a membrane for existence of cracks and other mechanical damages.

Installation is made upside-down.


Module of provision of a butterfly valve

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery. Remove an air cleaner casing (see the Section Removal and installation of assembly of the air cleaner). The trailer switch and a step electric motor of the drive of a throttle zaslonkiustanovlena in the lower part of the case of a throttle also provide enrichment of air-fuel mix at start and warming up of the engine, and also shutdown of supply of fuel during braking with the engine.

2. Disconnect an accelerator cable from the throttle case (see the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of an accelerator).
3. Disunite the electric socket on a wall of the module of provision of a butterfly valve.

4. Turn out fixing screws and remove the module from the throttle case together with a basic arm of a cover of a cable of an accelerator.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is made upside-down. In case of installation of the new module it is necessary to check adjustment of the sensor switch of turns of idling - address on car repair shop.


Sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Remove assembly of the case of a throttle (see above). TPS is built in the lower half of assembly and in individual a lock is not subject to replacement. The sensor represents a potentiometer which amplitude of an output signal changes in dependence of size of an angle of opening of the gate. Through contacts 1 and 5 on a potentiometer basic tension moves. From contacts 1 and 2 the output signal of turn of the gate in the range from 0 ° to 24 ° is removed. At turn of the gate in the range from 18 ° to 90 ° the output signal is removed from contacts 1 and 4 assemblies. Except production of a signal of the current provision of a butterfly valve, the sensor in addition informs ECU on need of enrichment of air-fuel mix at cold start, acceleration and the mode of braking by the engine.


Sensor switch of turns of idling of a butterfly valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the module of provision of a butterfly valve (see above). The sensor switch is built in in the module and is not subject to replacement in an individual order.
2. After performance of replacement of the module of situation the sensor switch of idling has to be adjusted in the conditions of a workshop of car service.


Oxygen sensor (l-probe)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

the l-probe is installed in a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases. Working temperature of the sensor exceeds value of 300 °C when in an active zone of the device there is a change of resistance of a working element depending on the level of content of oxygen in the fulfilled gases. If amplitude of the signal developed by the sensor exceeds the limit of the admissible range corresponding to an optimum ratio of components of air-fuel mix, ECU runs out of the command for adjustment out of amounts of injectable fuel and a corner of an advancing of ignition, supporting by that optimum conditions for the fullest combustion of mix and reduction of level of toxic components in the fulfilled gases. In case of refusal the l-probe the system passes into the mode of emergency functioning which is followed by decrease in dynamic indicators and increase in fuel consumption. In memory of the control unit the corresponding code of malfunction is brought.

Sensor of temperature of cooling liquid

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The temperature sensor of system of injection of fuel is installed in a back part of the inlet pipeline. Besides it the separate sensor providing functioning of the measuring instrument of temperature - CTS is provided (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating). In case of violation of serviceability of functioning of the sensor the system passes into emergency operation of work, at the same time violation of stability of turns of the cold engine can take place.
2. Check of the sensor can be made by measurement of its electric resistance which at the cold engine has to make about 2 kOhm, and at hot - about 300 Ohms.
3. At break identification the sensor is subject to replacement. If resistance changes with a temperature, it is necessary to drive away the car on car repair shop for more detailed check of a control system of the engine - the code failure of the sensor is in certain cases fixed in memory of ECU system in the form of the corresponding code which can be defined by means of the special diagnostic reader.
4. For removal of the sensor it is necessary or to empty completely the cooling system, or to disconnect one of hoses of a cooling path from the pipeline and to empty the last. Alternatively, prepare a suitable cap for blocking of an adjusting opening of the sensor after a reversing of the last.

5. Disunite the electric socket, then turn out the sensor from a back part of the pipeline (see an accompanying illustration). Remove a sealant - at assembly it is subject to replacement without fail.

6. Establish a new sealant and screw the sensor on the regular place.
7. Connect an electrical wiring and, as required, add the cooling system.


RPM meter and provisions of a bent shaft


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

The RPM meter and provisions of a bent shaft is installed on a dome of coupling and represents the induction assembly informing ECU on the frequency of rotation and the provision of the flywheel equipped with an induction ring (A). The induction ring has the cuts located through 54 °. The sensor is installed so that to develop information impulse in points 60 ° and 6 ° to VMT. Analyzing information arriving from the sensor, ECU defines the fuel injection moment, and at excess of the maximum admissible frequency of rotation of a bent shaft (5800 rpm) or during braking by the engine blocks fuel supply. When replacing the sensor track correctness of its placement on a coupling dome. Procedures of removal and installation of the sensor are described in the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine.


Electronic control unit (ECU)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

ECU is located behind on the left partition of a motive compartment). The block is protected by a special code and service center of the Skoda company should not be removed without preliminary consultation with representatives company. The unauthorized rassoyedineniye multicontact can give the socket to violation of serviceability of functioning of ECU.


Relay and safety locks of the fuel pump

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The relay of the fuel pump and safety locks of system of injection are located in the assembly block installed in interior of the car (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
2. The relay of the pump is on the fifth position among the relay of the working panel of the assembly block. The electric chain of a contour of power supply of the pump is protected by a safety lock No. 4.
3. The relay is taken from the nest by a simple pulling. Installation of the relay is unambiguous in view of asymmetry of a form of a nest.
4. The safety lock is removed also as well as all other safety locks (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
5. It is necessary to notice that removal of the main safety lock of system of injection (No. 1) leads to deleting of adaptation data from memory of ECU, also as it occurs at shutdown of the battery. Reset of working parameters demands some time that can lead to violation of stability of turns of idling within the first several minutes after the first start of the engine.
