Removal, check of a state and installation of cogwheels and natyazhitel of a belt of the GRM drive

General information

Before starting implementation of the procedure it is necessary to make an immobilization of the engine and car:
a) Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with the security device before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct code for input of the audio system in action.


b) Prop up wedges back wheels of the car and cock the parking brake. Transfer a control lever of RKPP to neutral situation;

Natyazhitel

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP) of the end of a step of compression).
2. Separate the right support of the power unit, then take off a belt of the drive of auxiliary units, a pulley of a bent shaft, both the top and lower covers of a gas-distributing belt (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive and its covers).
3. Having released a lock-nut of a nave of a roller of a natyazhitel, weaken a belt.
4. Give a lock-nut and remove a natyazhitel from a fixing hairpin.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Carefully clear a natyazhitel, in order to avoid pollution of the bearing without applying any solvents. Rotating a pulley for a nave manually, make sure of lack of breakthroughs and points of jamming. Existence of a side play testifies to wear of assembly and need of its replacement.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Put on a roller a hairpin. The plate of the basis of a natyazhitel has to be put on by an U-shaped cut a bolt. Slightly tighten a lock-nut.

2. Pull a GRM drive belt (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive and its covers).

3. Check serviceability of functioning of a natyazhitel for what firmly press on a belt a thumb on the site in the middle between cogwheels of cranked and distributive shaft - the speaker from under a roller the sliding index will be displaced from an adjusting groove to an assembly basis plate aside.

4. At a belt otpuskaniye the index has to return to a starting position, again having combined with a groove. In case of jamming of the index a natyazhitel it is necessary to replace.

5. Install into place all removed components (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive and its covers).
6. Upon termination of assembly check correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).


Camshaft cogwheel

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Uncover a gas-distributing belt and bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression. Having released a lock-nut of a natyazhitel, weaken a belt and remove it from a camshaft cogwheel.

In order to avoid damage of components of a head of cylinders as a result of the casual shift of a bent shaft in the course of removal/installation of a cogwheel of the camshaft, authors of the present manual recommend to develop a shaft by couple of degrees from VMT back. Before putting on of a belt do not forget to return the engine to the provision of the top dead point.

2. Before an otdavaniye of a fixing bolt it is necessary to take care of blocking of a cogwheel of the camshaft. Use the elementary bifurcate capture made of two pieces of a metal strip and three nuts with bolts. One of bolts carries out a tool fork axis role, two others fasten to an asterisk.

3. Having reliably blocked a cogwheel, give a fixing bolt.

4. Remove a cogwheel from a camshaft pin.

5. Having removed a wheel, at once check a camshaft epiploon for existence of signs of leaks. In case of need make replacement of an epiploon (see the Section Replacement of an Epiploon of the Camshaft).
6. Carefully wipe the interfaced surfaces of a cogwheel and a pin of a shaft.

ASSEMBLY

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Put on a cogwheel a camshaft pin (take care of combination of a shponochny groove with a spline).

2. Having blocked a cogwheel, in stages tighten a bolt with the required effort.

3. Make sure that the engine is in the provision of VMT (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP) of the end of a step of compression), then establish a gear belt and adjust effort of its tension (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive and its covers). Establish all removed details and connect a negative wire to the battery.


Cogwheel of a bent shaft

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Uncover a GRM drive belt (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive and its covers) and bring the piston of the first cylinder into the provision of VMT of the end of a step of compression.
2. Block a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye. Blocking can be made by means of the special branded Skoda tool, or by jamming of a gear wreath of a flywheel through an opening under installation of a starter (the procedure of removal of a starter is described in the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine). Release a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel.
3. Having blocked the engine from a provorachivaniye (see the previous paragraph), weaken a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel of a bent shaft (do not turn out it so far).
4. Make sure that the engine is in the provision of VMT (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP) of the end of a step of compression), then release a lock-nut of a natyazhitel and weaken a tension of a gas-distributing belt. Accurately take off a belt from a zubaty wheel of a bent shaft.
5. Turn out a bolt and remove a cogwheel.

6. Having removed a cogwheel, check a shaft epiploon, in case of identification of traces of leaks, replace a defective epiploon (see the Section Replacement of Epiploons of a Bent Shaft).
7. Carefully wipe the interfaced surfaces of a cogwheel and a pin of a bent shaft.

ASSEMBLY

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Having achieved combination of a tooth of a nave with a shponochny groove of a pin, establish a wheel into place. Having slightly greased a carving, screw a new fixing bolt and tighten it, so far only by hand.

Final tightening of a bolt is made after installation of a gas-distributing belt. The effort of tightening is rather high to exclude risk of a casual provorachivaniye of a shaft with inevitable removal of the engine from the provision of VMT.

2. Make sure that the engine is in the provision of VMT (see the Section Reduction of the Piston of the First Cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP) of the end of a step of compression), then establish a belt of the GRM drive and adjust effort of its tension (see the Section Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive and its covers).
3. Having blocked a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye, in stages tighten a bolt of fastening of a cogwheel of a bent shaft with the required effort.

4. Working as it should be, the return to a dismantle order, install the remained components and connect a negative wire to the battery.


Gear belt of the water pump


The cogwheel is built in in assembly of the pump and in an individual order is not removed. The description of the procedure of the pump is provided in the Head of the Cooling system, heating.
