Removal, check of a state and installation of a flywheel

General information

The flywheel is made of steel and equipped with a gear wreath. Fastens to a flange of a bent shaft six bolts of M10x1 with heads like TORX. The flywheel is calculated on installation of assembly of coupling with a diameter of 190 mm. Bolted openings are located asymmetrically that defines unambiguity of landing of a flywheel which balancing is made assembled with a bent shaft. A carving part of bolts at assembly is greased with the fixing sealant like Loctite 574 or Loctite 270.

At installation of a gear wreath on a flywheel the last needs to be warmed up up to the temperature of 400 °C.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the transmission (see the Head the Transmission) and coupling assembly (see the Head Stsepleniye).

2. By means of the clamp made of a thick metal plate (see an accompanying illustration) jam a gear wreath of a flywheel, having blocked the last from a provorachivaniye in the course of an otdavaniye of bolts of its fastening. Alternatively the flywheel can be blocked by means of a metal plate, pribolchenny between it and a dome of coupling. In order to avoid violation of balancing at assembly mark the provision of a flywheel in relation to an end face of a pin of a bent shaft

3. Turn out fixing bolts and by means of the assistant remove a heavy flywheel.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check a condition of the flywheel surface interfaced to a clutch plate. In case of detection of deep scratches, cracks, zadir and other mechanical damages the flywheel is subject to replacement, or has to be sent to a pro-point (consult at specialists of car service).
2. Attentively examine a gear wreath of a flywheel. In case of wear or loss of teeths the wreath should be replaced in the conditions of a workshop of car service.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of a flywheel and a pin of a bent shaft. Having banished a tap carving openings in an end face of a pin of a bent shaft, remove from them the remains of the fixing sealant and corrosion products.

In the absence of near at hand suitable tap of an opening can be cleaned by means of an old bolt with the carving part which is sawn through lengthways, like described in the Section Replacement of Epiploons of a Bent Shaft (but with a head).

2. If new fixing bolts are not missed the mark by the fixing structure at manufacturer, slightly grease their carving part with suitable sealant.

3. Establish a flywheel on a pin of a bent shaft according to the landing tags put in the course of dismantle.

The new flywheel can be established in any situation. Screw bolts and tighten them, so far only by hand.

4. One of offered above ways block a flywheel from a provorachivaniye, then tighten fixing bolts with the required effort.

5. Establish to the place of assembly of coupling and the transmission (see Chapters Coupling and the Transmission).
