Removal and installation of an intermediate shaft (diesel engine)

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Take off a belt of the GRM drive and a cogwheel of an intermediate shaft.

2. Having measured the size of the longitudinal course of a shaft, estimate its axial side play. The dial measuring instrument should be fixed on the block of cylinders coaxially to a shaft, having pressed a plunger to an end face of a pin of the last. For the rest the procedure is identical to that, described for the camshaft. If the result of measurement exceeds the extreme value stipulated in Specifications for the camshaft, make replacement of an intermediate shaft.

3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove a flange of an intermediate shaft.

4. Remove a sealing ring and take an epiploon.

5. Take an intermediate shaft from the block of cylinders and check a condition of a driving gear wheel at its end face. In case of detection of defects or signs of excessive wear of teeths the shaft should be replaced.
6. If leaks through a shaft epiploon took place, check a condition of a surface of a pin of a shaft.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Oil necks and a driving gear wheel, then accurately fill a shaft in the block of cylinders.
2. Press a new epiploon in a shaft flange nest. From the inside of a flange enclose a new sealing ring in a flute.
3. Oil internal sponges of an epiploon in pure motive m put a flange on a shaft pin. Make sure of correctness of landing of a sealing ring, then screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the required effort. Check freedom of rotation of an intermediate shaft.
4. Establish into place a cogwheel of an intermediate shaft and tighten a bolt of its fastening with the required effort.
