Initial start of the engine after completion of its capital repairs
Working according to the instructions stated in the Section Engine Assembly Order after performance of capital repairs, install the remained components on the engine, collect the power unit and install it on the car (see the Section Removal, a partition and installation of the power unit). Carefully check levels of cooling liquid of motive oil. Make sure of correctness of connection of all lines of communication. Check a motive compartment for availability of the materials and tools forgotten in it.

1. Remove spark plugs. 2. Make an engine immobilization, having provided a possibility of a provorachivaniye with its starter without start - disconnect the relay of the fuel pump (see the Head the Power supply system). Alternatively find and remove a safety lock of the fuel pump.
|
On the models equipped with the catalytic converter the engine immobilization by shutdown of system of ignition without shutdown of a power supply system can lead to failure of a working element of the converter due to hit in it not burned down fuel which then steadily will ignite at normal start of the engine. |
3. Turn the engine a starter until the control lamp of pressure of oil is disconnected. If the lamp is not disconnected several seconds of a provorachivaniye of the engine later, double-check the level of oil and reliability of fastening of an oil filter. If everything is all right, check a condition of an electrical wiring of the sensor switch of pressure of oil. It is not necessary to continue attempts until you are sure that oil regularly circulates on the engine. 4. Screw to the place of a spark plug and connect a power supply system. |

1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the locking valve on TNVD (see the Head the Power supply system). 2. Turning the engine a starter, achieve shutdown of a control lamp of pressure of oil. 3. 4. Connect an electrical wiring to the locking valve. |

1. Start the engine - the procedure can take slightly more time, than usually in view of need of filling of a path of a power supply system. 2. Having left the engine working at single turns, check it for existence of signs of leak of cooling liquid, oil and fuel. It is not necessary to panic at emergence of a smell of burning and emergence of smoke - it occurs burning out of the lubricants used at assembly. 3. On petrol modules insignificant violation of stability of turns of idling before recall of ECU of necessary parameters can take place what requires some time. 4. On diesel models and models of 1.6 l hydraulic pushers at first can work with the increased level of noise, however several seconds later the background has to return to normal. 5. If everything is all right, wait for warming up of the top hose of a radiator, then kill the engine. 6. On diesel models check installation of phases of gas distribution of TNVD and turns of idling. 7. Let's the engine cool down within several minutes, then make checks of levels of oil and cooling liquid. In case of need make the corresponding adjustments. 8. On all models there is no need for pulling up of fixture of a head of cylinders. 9. If replacement of pistons, piston rings or bearings of a bent shaft was made, it is necessary to make an engine running in as though about was new. I.e. throughout the first 1000 km (600 miles) of a run it is necessary to avoid full opening of a butterfly valve, to try not to move a setup and with small turns of the engine. It is recommended to replace also upon termination of a running in motive oil and an oil filter. |
