1. This check, without being strictly obligatory, is among the procedures of routine maintenance of the car stipulated by the manufacturer. During check by means of the special diagnostic equipment the condition and serviceability of functioning of a control system of the engine are estimated. The electronic reader is connected to the special diagnostic socket that allows to carry out a survey of memory of an electronic control unit (ECU) on existence of codes of malfunctions in it.
2. Strictly speaking, the valid need for conducting this check arises only in case of suspicions on malfunction existence.
3. Some from enough serious violations of functioning of a control system of the engine can remain a long time unnoticed by the owner. At certain refusals the system just switches to emergency operation of functioning, decrease in efficiency of return of the engine at which sometimes is almost imperceptible and is shown only at cold start.
