General information
The centrifugal water pump is put in action by the belt drive from a bent shaft of the engine and provides circulation of cooling liquid. The liquid which is between blades of the rotating rotor is pushed out outside under the influence of centrifugal force. The case is cast from aluminum and in addition serves as the case for a rubber pillow of a support of a suspension bracket of the power unit. By means of four nuts of M8 the case fastens on the hairpins put in a forward wall of the block of cylinders.
Between a pump housing and the block sealing laying is established.
In the case the rotor shaft which is a component of the PLC 75-1 bearing is located. The bearing is installed in a pump housing by means of a pin with a diameter of 5 mm and 35 mm long. The bearing jams lubricant at manufacturer and does not need regular service.
On the shaft pin acting from a pump housing напрессован a driving pulley. Sealing of landing of a pin in the case is provided with the epiploon consisting of a ceramic ring, and the sprung profile ring which is put on it.
Models with the petrol engine of 1.3 l

Performance of capital repairs of the failed water pump is possible only in the conditions of a workshop company service center of the Skoda company where it is necessary to deliver all removed assembly complete with a casing. Alternatively assembly can is replaced by new. Consult at experts. |
REMOVAL
|
1. Empty the cooling system. The water pump is built in assembly of the right support of the power unit. 2. Remove assembly of the air cleaner. 3. Take off a belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
|
4. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a tube of a cooling path to the right end face of the engine, then release a fixing collar and disconnect a tube from a hose of pump assembly. |
|
5. From transmission disconnect a rod of the choice of transfers, then release a collar for the purpose of ensuring access to a cylindrical pin.
|
The company collar will be more correct to be replaced at assembly more convenient standard. Beat out a cylindrical pin (at assembly it is subject to replacement without fail). |
|
6. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a bar of the mechanism of gear shifting to the RKPP block, remove washers and a rubber pillow of a support. 7. Get a jack on the engine (between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case for the purpose of distribution of loading it is necessary to lay the wooden block) and slightly raise the power unit. Alternatively, hang out the unit from above by means of the winch or a beam. 8. Give a nut and remove a through bolt of a back support of the power unit. 9. Give a nut and take a through bolt of the right support. For the purpose of providing sufficient working space for extraction of a bolt, remove a cap of the right mudguard. Bolte acts then through the opened opening and is taken through an arch of the right wheel. 10. Mark the provision of an arm of the right support of the power unit in relation to a car body, then turn out fixing bolts and remove an arm.

11. Give two nuts of fastening of assembly of the water pump with a support to the block of cylinders. Remove assembly from fixing hairpins and take it from the car, as required correcting height of suspension of the unit, trying not to allow excessive tension on components of system of production of the fulfilled gases and a pulling of plaits of an electrical wiring and hoses. |
12. Remove sealing laying. At assembly it is subject to replacement without fail. |

INSTALLATION
|
|
1. Make sure of absoluteness of purity and dryness of the interfaced surfaces of the pump and block of cylinders. Put on new sealing laying fixing hairpins. |
2. Install assembly of a casing of the pump on the block of cylinders and tighten fixing nuts with the required effort. 3. Establish an arm of the right support of the power unit on the regular place and screw fixing bolts. Achieve combination of the landing tags put in the course of dismantle, then tighten bolts with the required effort. 4. Level the right support concerning an arm, insert a through bolt and screw a nut, having tightened it so far only by hand. Establish a cap in a mudguard of the right wing. 5. Establish a through bolt of a back support of the power unit, screw a nut and slightly tighten it. 6. Lower the engine. Slightly shake the unit for the purpose of shrinkage of components, then tighten fixture of both support with the required effort. 7. Clean a gear shifting bar bolt carving, having completely removed all traces of old sealant from rounds. Make sure of correctness of placement of rubber pillows and washers, then connect a bar to RKPP case. Slightly grease a bolt carving with type sealant. Loctite 270 or Three Bond 1305). Screw a bolt and tighten it with the required effort (see the Head the Transmission). 8. Connect a rod of the choice of transfer to a box fix it by a cylindrical pin. Record a pin a collar. 9. Connect a tube of a cooling path and fix it by a bolt, having tightened the last with the required effort. Strongly tighten a collar of fastening of a tube in a hose. 10. Establish a belt of the drive of auxiliary units (see the corresponding Part of the Head Remont of the engine). 11. Establish assembly of the air cleaner. 12. Establish protection of a case, strongly tighten screws of its fastening, then lower the car on the earth. 13. Fill the cooling system. |

REMOVAL
|
1. Take off a GRM drive belt with a natyazhitel (see the corresponding Part of the Head Remont of the engine). 2. Empty the cooling system.

3. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the water pump... |

... also remove from the last a back cover of a gas-distributing belt. |

4. Remove the pump from the block of cylinders. Also remove a sealing ring which at assembly is subject to replacement without fail. |

INSTALLATION
|
|
1. Install a new sealing ring on the pump. Start the pump on the regular place in the block of cylinders. Establish a back cover of a gas-distributing belt, screw bolts of fastening of the pump and tighten them with the required effort. |
2. Establish into place a GRM drive belt (see the corresponding Part of the Head Remont of the engine). 3. In conclusion fill the cooling system. |

Diesel models
REMOVAL
|
1. Empty the cooling system. 2. Remove the generator. 3. Without disconnecting hydraulic lines, an otboltita the steering pump from the support (see the Head Podvesk and steering) also shift it from the case of the water pump aside. 4. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a back arm of TNVD to the top part of assembly of a casing of the water pump / arm of a support of the power unit. 5. Release fixing collars and disconnect hoses of a cooling path from a back part of assembly of a pump/arm of a support.

6. Turn out fixing bolts and remove assembly of a pump/arm of a support from a forward part of the block of cylinders. Remove the sealing ring established between a casing and the block. At assembly the ring is subject to replacement without fail. |
7. Lay assembly on a workbench, turn out fixing bolts and remove a pulley from the pump. Give bolts and remove the pump from a casing. You will throw out a sealing ring - at assembly it has to be replaced. |

INSTALLATION
|
1. Make sure of absoluteness of purity and dryness of the interfaced surfaces of the pump and a casing, establish a new sealing ring. 2. Install the pump on a casing and evenly tighten fixing bolts with the required effort. Establish a pulley and tighten bolts of its fastening with the required effort.

3. Enclose a new sealing ring in a flute of assembly of a casing, then install a casing on the block of cylinders, screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the required effort in that order. |
|
4. Connect hoses of a cooling path to a casing and strongly fix them by collars. 5. Install the generator, the water pump and a belt of the drive of auxiliary units on the regular places. 6. In conclusion fill the cooling system. |
