Removal and installation of power shafts
REMOVAL
|
|
At assembly the new stupichny nut, and also a replaceable nut of a coupling bolt of a spherical support of the lower lever of a suspension bracket will be required. |
1. Take off a decorative cap of wheel it is wild / naves, then weaken a stupichny nut and nuts of fastening of a wheel. 2. Prop up wedges back wheels, cock the parking brake, then a front of the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on props. Remove the corresponding forward wheel. 3. Merge gearbox oil. Having replaced a sealing washer, screw a drain stopper of a case of RKPP on the regular place and tighten it with the required effort. 4. On the equipped ABS models remove from stupichny assembly the wheel sensor (see the Head the Brake system). 5. Take the forelock, give a nut of the spherical hinge of steering draft and release the hinge from the rotary lever of stupichny assembly (see the Head Podvesk and steering). 6. Give a stupichny nut, remove a washer.

If it was not succeeded to weaken a stupichny nut before raising of the car above the ground, screw into place and strongly tighten couple of bolts of fastening of a wheel. Ask the assistant to squeeze out firmly a foot brake in order to avoid a nave provorachivaniye, then weaken and turn out a stupichny bolt. The removed stupichny nut is not subject to reuse and at assembly has to be replaced without fail. |
7. On the models equipped with the forward stabilizer of cross stability give a nut of fastening of a rack of a bar of the stabilizer on the lower lever of a suspension bracket. Remove a washer and take the lower rubber pillow of a support. 8. On all models give a nut of a coupling bolt of a spherical support of fastening of the lower lever of a forward suspension bracket to stupichny assembly. By means of mount deploy the lever, releasing the hinge from stupichny assembly. On the models equipped with the stabilizer of cross stability try not to drop the top rubber pillow and a washer of a rack of fastening of a bar. The coupling bolt and its nut at assembly are subject to replacement without fail.

9. Carefully delay stupichny assembly outside, removing it from shlits of the external CV JOINT of a power shaft. In case of need the shaft can be beaten out from a nave by means of the hammer with soft brisk. At once tie up the released shaft a wire to suspension bracket elements in order to avoid damage of the internal hinge and its protective cover. |

10. Trying not to damage a case, accurately hook the internal CV JOINT mount or the big screw-driver and release an internal pin of a shaft from assembly of differential. |
11. Take a shaft from under the car (try not to damage a differential epiploon).

Do not lower the car on the earth after removal of one or both power shafts at all. Such practice is fraught with failure of wheel bearings. If there is a need for movement of the car, temporarily insert the external end of a shaft into a nave of the wheel and fix it by a nut, then tie up the internal end a wire to suspension bracket elements.
In need of removal of both power shafts it is necessary to take care of fixing of one of side gear wheels in a differential box. Having removed the first of shaft, pass throughout an opening in a case the core suitable on diameter (about 26 mm), having passed it through an opening in a gear wheel. The second end of a core leave freely acting from a box. If one or fight of a gear wheel fall in assembly, it is necessary to make dismantling of the transmission for their extraction. |

INSTALLATION
|
1. Before installation of a power shaft check a condition of an epiploon of consolidation of its landing in a differential case. In case of need replace an epiploon (see the Section Replacement of Epiploons).

Authors of the present manual recommend to make replacement of epiploons regardless of their state. |
2. Having hooked the small screw-driver, remove a lock ring of fastening of the CV JOINT from the end of an internal pin of a shaft and establish on its place new. Track correctness of landing of a ring in a flute. 3. Carefully wipe a shlitsevy part of a pin and a surface of walls of an opening in a differential case. Grease with a thin layer of dense lubricant sealing sponges of an epiploon, a vent and coat hanger of a shaft. Make sure of reliability of fixing by bandages of a rubber protective cover of the CV JOINT.

4. Trying not to damage an epiploon, enter a shaft into gearing with vents of a nave of a side gear wheel of differential in the transmission. Push a shaft in a box against the stop and make sure of reliability of fixing by its lock ring. In case of need use for landing of a shaft the hammer with soft brisk. |
5. Level the external CV JOINT and push its pin in stupichny assembly. Establish a washer and screw a stupichny nut, having tightened it so far only by hand. 6. The lever wring out assembly of the lower lever of a suspension bracket down, fill a spherical support on the regular place, then release the lever. Track that the sharovy finger of a support completely entered the nest in a collar of stupichny assembly. Insert a coupling bolt, screw on it a nut and tighten it with the required effort. On the models equipped with the stabilizer of cross stability establish a stabilizer bar rack on assembly of the lower lever, having tracked correctness of landing of the top rubber pillow and washer. 7. Where it is required establish into place the lower rubber pillow and a washer of a rack of a bar of the stabilizer of cross stability, screw a nut and tighten it with the required effort. 8. Fill a tip of steering draft in the rotary lever of stupichny assembly and fix it by the nut, having strongly tightened the last. Record a nut the new forelock. 9. On the models equipped with ABS install on a nave the wheel sensor (see the Head the Brake system). 10. Establish into place a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel bolts with the required effort. 11. Tighten a stupichny nut with the required effort, then establish into place a decorative cap of a wheel disk / nave. 12 Fill in necessary amount of gearbox oil of the required grade in the transmission. |
