Removal and installation of a pedal of coupling

Coupling pedal components

1 — a cable Clamp
2 — a coupling drive Cable
3 — a coupling Pedal

4 — Pruzhina
5 — an axis Clamp

Models with right-hand steering

Performance of replacement of axial plugs of a pedal of coupling is possible without dismantle of pedal assembly, despite extremely limited access. Take forelocks on both sides of an axis of a pedal and shift persistent washers back, providing a possibility of extraction of axial plugs from the landing nests and their removal from an axis. Grease new plugs before installation with universal lubricant like Litol 24 or G00062 (ask in shops automobile химикалиев). Having put both plugs in the reception nests, establish into place persistent washers and record assembly by new forelocks. In conclusion do not forget to make adjustment of a driving cable of coupling (see the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of the drive of coupling).

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Components of pedal assembly are presented on an accompanying illustration.
2. In a motive compartment disconnect a negative wire from the battery, then find the transmission end of a driving cable of coupling and completely release an adjusting nut, having provided the maximum weak point of a cable.
3. Remove the central console (see the Section Removal and installation of the central console).
4. Remove the radio receiver block, then unbend lock uvulas back and take a radio tape recorder frame from a reception nest in the dashboard. Disconnect an antenna cable and an electrical wiring, then finally remove a frame.

5. Release clamps and remove the sleeve connecting a heater casing to a back foot well.

6. Disconnect an auxiliary spring from a coupling pedal. Under the dashboard remove a clamp of fastening of a driving cable to a pedal. Release a cable tip from a pedal.

7. Disconnect a driving cable from the top part of a pedal of an accelerator.

8. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of stoplights which will be screwed in the top part of the right arm of pedal assembly.

9. In a passenger foot well take a plastic clamp and remove the decorative panel from the left arm of pedal assembly.

10. Remove a clamp and release a tip of fastening of draft of a pusher of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier of brakes from a pedal.

11. Give fixing nuts and remove an emphasis of a pedal of an accelerator and a foot emphasis on the left side of a coupling pedal.

12. Release clamps and roll a carpet on a partition of a motive compartment, having provided to access to the lower nuts of fastening of a pedal arm.

13. Give nuts of fastening of the left and right arms of pedal assembly. Take the lower basic plates from a motive compartment.

14. Accurately take pedal assembly from the car.
15. Having laid assembly on a workbench, carefully unhook a returnable spring of a brake pedal from a back part of the lever of the servo-driver. Take lock rings of fastening of an axis of a brake pedal and remove basic arms, axial plugs and a returnable spring from pedal assembly. Further dismantling is not represented possible. Pedals of coupling and a brake are delivered by uniform assembly (in an individual order only axial plugs and forelocks - see the remark at the beginning of the Section are subject to replacement).

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is made upside-down Special attention it is necessary to pay to the next moments:

a) Do not forget to grease before installation axial plugs of pedal assembly by universal lubricant (see the remark at the beginning of the Section);
b) Having connected an accelerator cable to a pedal, check correctness of its adjustment;
c) After connection of a driving cable of coupling, make its adjustment according to the instructions provided in the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of the drive of coupling;
d) In conclusion connect the battery and check serviceability of functioning of stoplights.

Models with left-side steering

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. In a motive compartment disconnect a negative wire from the battery, then find the transmission end of a driving cable of coupling and completely release an adjusting nut, having provided the maximum weak point of a cable.
2. Disconnect an auxiliary spring from a coupling pedal. Under the dashboard remove a fastening clamp to a pedal of a driving cable. Release a cable tip from a pedal.
3. Remove a clamp from the end of an axis of a pedal, shift a pedal from the place and remove it from a basic arm complete with an auxiliary spring.
4. Check a pedal for existence of signs of wear and mechanical damages. In case of need make replacement. The axial plug of a pedal serves also for landing of a brake pedal. If the plug needs replacement, it is necessary to take care of reliable fixing of a pedal of a foot brake for the period of implementation of the procedure of extraction of the old plug and installation new.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish an auxiliary spring on a pedal, grease an axis of a pedal and the plug with universal lubricant (see the remark at the beginning of the Section).
2. Get a pedal on the regular place, having tracked correctness of installation of an auxiliary spring. Fix assembly by a clamp.
3. Grease a tip of a driving cable with universal lubricant and connect it to a pedal, having fixed by a clamp.
4. Connect a returnable spring to a pedal, then execute adjustment of a driving cable of coupling (see the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a cable of the drive of coupling). In conclusion connect a negative wire to the battery.
