Removal and installation of assembly of a gasoline pump and sensor of fuel consumption

See the preventions provided in the Section the General information and precautionary measures.

Avoid hit of fuel on open sites of skin - use protective gloves. Perform work only in well ventilated room.


General information

The fuel pump is combined with fuel consumption sensor in the uniform assembly established in the top part of the fuel tank. Access to assembly is provided by removal of a cover of specially provided hatch in the floor panel in the luggage compartment of the car. Assembly is omitted in the fuel tank, and therefore its removal is accompanied by hit of a flying phase of contents of a tank in the atmosphere.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Dump residual pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dumping of Residual Pressure in a power supply system).
2. Make sure that the car is parked on the flat horizontal platform, then disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
3. Put a back seat of the car forward and remove a decorative cover of the panel of a floor.

4. Turn out fixing screws and uncover the hatch of access to assembly of the fuel pump / sensor of fuel consumption to floor panels.

5. Disunite the electrical wiring socket in the top part of assembly.

6. Impose with rags nipple connections of hoses of giving and return of fuel, then weaken collars and disconnect hoses from the top part of assembly. Do not forget to mark hoses as their connection - on unions special tags in the form of the arrows specifying the direction of a stream are provided.

7. Turn off a plastic ring of fastening of assembly in an aperture of the fuel tank.

8. For an otpuskaniye of a bayonetny clamp turn assembly on the left, then take it from a tank...

.... previously having waited for running off of the fuel remains in it. Remove rubber sealing laying.

Otdavany a plastic fixing ring it can be made by means of sliding nippers for water fittings.

9. Take assembly of the pump with датчикомиз the car and lay on a leaf of the cardboard which is well absorbing moisture or the outspread rags. Check a float on the end of the lever of the sensor for existence of punctures and signs of penetration of fuel in it - the damaged float is subject to replacement.
10. Assembly is equipped by the sprung toplivozabornik whose design guarantees a possibility of absorption of fuel in the pump from the lowermost point of a tank. Check freedom of movement of a toplivozabornik
11. Examine rubber sealing laying of an aperture of the hatch of access in the fuel tank to existence of signs of damages. In case of need make replacement.

12. Clear the surfaces of the ram and a path of a working element of the sensor of a mud raid and check components for existence of cracks.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Installation is made upside-down. Pay attention to the next moments:

a) Try not to bend the sensor float lever at installation;
b) At the correct installation the lever of a float is located to owe perpendicular to the axial line of the car;
c) Before installation grease adjusting rubber laying with pure fuel;
d) Tags in the form of arrows on the top cover of assembly and edge of an aperture of the hatch in a tank have to are combined;
e) Track correctness of an order of connection to assembly of hoses of giving and return of fuel (according to the marking put at dismantle).
