Check and adjustment of valvate gaps (model of 1.3 l)

Adjustment of a valvate gap

1 — the Measuring probe
2 — the Lock-nut
3 — the Adjusting screw

4 — the Screw-driver
5 — the Key

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Pushers of valves of engines with a capacity of 1.6 l are equipped with hydraulic compensators, and therefore need for adjustment of valvate gaps disappears.

1. Efficiency of return of the engine considerably depends on correctness of adjustment of valvate gaps. Excess of admissible size of valvate gaps leads to delay in operation of valves (too late opening and early closing). On the other hand, too dense landing of components is fraught with danger of loss of compression pressure as a result of incomplete closing of valves owing to thermal expansion of bars of pushers. Besides, in such situation there is an intensive burn-out of plates and saddles of valves.
2. Adjustment of valvate gaps is made on the cold engine (gaps of inlet and final valves at a temperature of engine of +20 °C have to make 0.20 mm). In case bars of inlet valves are made of aluminum, but not of steel, the gap should be established to 0.25 mm. Uncover a head of cylinders (see the Head Remont of the engine). For the purpose of simplification of a provorachivaniye of a bent shaft it makes sense to turn out also spark plugs (see the Section Replacement of Spark Plugs - models of 1.3 l).

3. For the purpose of ensuring access to the first two valves turn out a fixing bolt and remove the maslootrazhatel established under a cover of a jellied mouth of motive oil And.
4. The pusher of the valve which is subject to adjustment has to rest against a heel of the corresponding cam of the camshaft (it is reached by a provorachivaniye of a bent shaft). For convenience valves are numbered, beginning from the GRM drive, next to a chain. Adjustment is made according to this numbering that allows to avoid excess provorachivaniye of a bent shaft. The table by means of which it is convenient to define an order of performance of adjustments is given below:

Valve No. 8

Valve No. 1

(Vyp)

Valve No. 6

Valve No. 3

(Vpuskn)

Valve No. 4

Valve No. 5

(Vyp)
Valve No. 7 Valve No. 2 (Vpuskn)
Valve No. 1 Valve No. 8 (Vyp)
Valve No. 3 Valve No. 6 (Vpuskn)
Valve No. 5 Valve No. 4 (Vyp)
Valve No. 2 Valve No. 7 (Vpuskn)

5. The required sizes of valvate gaps are specified in Specifications. For performance of adjustment weaken a wrench a six-sided lock-nut of a spherical support of a yoke. The support at the same time is kept from a provorachivaniye by the screw-driver.
6. Enter an edge of the measuring probe of thickness conforming to requirements of Specifications into a gap between an end face of a core of the valve and a working surface of a yoke of its drive. Rotation of the adjusting screw of a spherical support achieve dense landing of an edge in a gap. Having recorded a support in required position, tighten a lock-nut and repeat check.
7. As appropriate turning a bent shaft, repeat the procedure for the remained valves in the order stipulated above.
8. Establish a maslootrazhatel and with the required effort tighten a fixing bolt. Establish into place a cover of a head of cylinders and (if removed) spark plugs (see the Section Replacement of Spark Plugs - models of 1.3 l).
